Episode 001: The Beginning

Alright, let's get this started.

Episode 001: The Beginning

To start the series, we have our earliest images of the island.  This contains the entire episode of "Across The Sea", where we see Jacob's origins, along with his brother.  We also see the earliest time flash, when Locke turns the wheel to stop the island from moving.

Release Schedule

Okay, for those of you that are eagerly awaiting for me to start posting some episodes...you will have to be patient for a few more days.  The first episode is going to go up Saturday.  I decided to wait a few days to let the finale sort of sink in, let everyone come to terms with the show ending, and put a little bit of downtime between the end of LOST and the beginning of Chronologically LOST.

That being said, I've got a vague idea of how this is all going to work.  Ideally, I can get two episodes a day converted and uploaded for viewing.  Obviously there will be days where I don't have time to work on the project and won't get any episodes completed, but best case scenario, I should have the whole show released to all of you in a couple of months.  Which means that given the occasional off day, I'd like to have this done in August some time.

Here's how it's going to work:  Each episode will be uploaded to zShare.net, where you can either view the episode, or download it to your computer.  Personally, I recommend downloading the episodes, because the quality is better, plus it gives you the opportunity to burn them to DVD and watch them on your TV if you want.  I also will be putting up torrents of the episodes, since I know that's the preferred distribution method for many of you.  Each torrent will probably be a grouping of about 10 episodes.  I would like to ask that you please, please, please seed if you're downloading the torrents.  I'm only one person, and will be using some of my bandwith uploading episodes to zShare, so it's very important that people seed as much as they can.

One last thing; these episodes are encoded as .FLV files.  I had originally wanted to do them as DivX .AVI files, but Premiere kept crashing every time I did, so this format produced the best results, plus it makes it much easier as far as viewing online.  An item of note, I don't believe Windows Media Player will play .flv files, so I would encourage you to seek out an alternative media player (I prefer VLC Player, I find it to be overall superior to Windows Media Player) to watch the videos on.

So, Saturday, first episode(s) will be released.  I will shoot for releasing two episodes a day, they will be available for either viewing online or downloading as .FLV files.  Every two weeks (give or take), there will be a new torrent available for download.  If you have any questions or comments about any of this, please feel free to drop me a comment on here.  That's all for now, see you Saturday.
